Disney’s hit Frozen closed out the first quarter of 2014 as the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Toy Story 3 held the record with a worldwide total of $1.06 billion, but Frozen has just passed the $1.07 billion mark and is still climbing since it is still showing worldwide in theaters.
But this is just one of many bragging rights Frozen can claim. On opening weekend, it became the #1 all-time debuted movie on Thanksgiving weekend with more than $67 million, which was $10 million more than the previous title-holder, Toy Story 2. For 16 weeks, Frozen remained in the top 10 movies in the U.S., landing it on the list of the 10 biggest films of all time. It also won Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, and the soundtrack has gone Platinum, with “Let It Go” winning an Oscar for Best Song. Now that Frozen is available on DVD and Blu-Ray, it’s could very well take Home Entertainment by storm.
